When Elvis left the stage for good on that stormy August 16, 1977, CBS had recorded two of his best ’77 concerts (Omaha and Rapid City) and his arrival to Indianapolis airport. To pay tribute to Elvis, CBS took the two concerts and edited them into a special presentation. This program has never been released in any format but VHS and DVD bootlegs. The Elvis Presley Estate has said over the years that they have “NO PLANS to release the special officially due to the fact that Elvis is visibly far from his best in looks and performances”.
